I took apart my light bar on my 2013 RG Custom for powder coating and the right running light is giving my trouble. The turn signal and brake light work, but I have to push on bulb to get the running light to come on. I had a guy tell me this was a simple fix but he didn't say anything else. It seems like something isn't making contact or seated right. I can probably figure out what it is but figured I'd ask and see if this was a common thing. Any help is appreciated.
Sounds like maybe a bad ground or defective bulb. Check your connector leads to the bulb to make sure no wires are cracked/broken. If it grounds to the housing and you push on it and it comes on it's probably the ground. Change the bulb first to eliminate the bulb.
I have the same issue on my bike right now... Front right side bullet does not work as a running light. Works fine as a turn signal and hazards. I can't think of anything I did lately to alter it. I thought it could be the brake light module I installed to use the rear turn signals as running/brake lights, but that's been there for over a year.
I swapped bulbs and it has the same symptoms. I'm clueless?? Subscribed!
Thanks for the advice. I had pretty much done everything suggested prior to posting. I'm three month out if warranty so that's not an option. Thanks regardles. I'm going to pull it back apart and see if I screwed something up, otherwise I'll just get new internals for that side.
All 1156 & 1157 bulbs are not equal, the bottom part on some bulbs is shorter then others.
This weekend I tried install a LED 1157 bulb in the rear turn signal, it just would not catch,
as I turned it into place. I examined the old 1157 bulb to the LED 1157, the new LED
was shorter on the end that turns into the housing. Now I am looking for the correct length
1157 LED blub.
