I have been around on this site for a while now, but the truth is, I had never owned a harley in my life ........ until today. I just bought a brand spanking new 2015 Harley road glide standard. Now the reason I was in here was actually to do research and see what kind of issues were out there. I got a lot of good info and took a test ride on that high output 103. Man thats a good engine. Well at any rate... I now own a brand new BONE STOCK harley. Looking at the post and what I had on my roadstar 1700 has helped me develop my list of wants.
rinehart or vance and hines 4" pipes. I am not sure if I want to do a complete system or just the mufflers.
14" apes. I had 18" apes on the roadie and honestly I could live with a little less height. I am 6'4" tall and have a general idea of where I want my hands to end up
I have the boom 4.1 audio on the bike. honestly, I heard way too many problems with the 6.5 boom audio and the added cost just didnt seem worth it to me.
I will post up some pictures later (after the wife gets done throwing out those MF's at me. LOL). whew I aint heard MF this much since we have been married.
Be prepared for her shopping trip. She will eventually get over the sticker shock, but as was already said the add ons will probably bring some more MF's your way. I haven't added anything to my bike all summer and I still hear about it. Her wedding ring costs more than I paid for my bike. Good luck, and congrats on the new ride!
leave it warranty compliant until it has proven itself.
it's not required to dump a bunch of money into your bike, be smart.
That's why I have 5 bikes
a stage 1 can cost under $500 ( many of us) or run over $2000 at the dealer.
depends how much DIY you want to do.
while you are running around bone stock enjoying that warranty, you can consider which changes you may want to make.
I kept a parts catalog in the can and made a list, researched parts and opinions on them and alternate suppliers of similar parts etc etc
and with that list I kept an eye on the classifieds
Kudos for doing all your research before buying
congrats, Mike
