Default Which engine would you build?

I'm looking at three engine builds for this winter for my 2012 FLTRX. Just interested in what you would choose. All are interesting an within my budget but all have pluses and minuses.

Option 1. FM107 w/ TW-777 cams, level B heads and Rinehart extreme true duals.
Option 2. FM107 w/ TW-555 cams and 2:1 exhaust (Jackpot or D&D). No head work.
Option 3. Stock 103 jugs & pistons, TW-777 cams, level B heads (set to 10.5:1 compression), 50mm intake, 30 tooth pulley and Rinehart extreme true duals.

This bike is set up as a solo bike, so 1 up 100% of the time.

provide more info

the other parts of the equation are cost- yet undefined

results: compare the dyno charts for these builds

and reliability- you'll have to define or project how reliability and service life will be affected.

The bike might see some 300 mile days but that would be the extent of the long hauls. So far, this bike gets about 1000 miles a year (my Ultra gets the big miles). The majority of this bike's time is spent to and from work (25 miles round trip) and bike nights (100 miles round trip).

I think any of the builds will be reliable and cost will be about the same...so for me it's really about which build (of the three) would be more fun.

As it sits the bike has a PC-V, SE heavy breather and Rinehart XTDs. It also has TW-222 cams but those are getting yanked.

I'd say none of the above with duals. You'll get some gains from ported heads, but not as much as a 2-1, and more to the right of the chart.

#2 makes more sense if you get ported heads. So I'd say #2, with ported heads and 777s. Its not that much more money.

Performance builds and true duals are somewhat at odds with each other. You want the style points of duals, but the performance of a build with ported heads. They dont always mix.

After I spoke with Fuel Moto, they recommended against porting heads with true duals, at least for my riding style, which has a fair amount of long distance. I'm not racing my bike.

So I have true duals, a 107, stock heads. 116 TQ, but right where I want it.

I would have also gone with a 2-1 and ported heads, but I didnt want to spend additional the money at the time. At some point in the future, I probably will tho.

None of the above. 2:1:2 over true duals any day if you don't want the -2:1. Then i would do option 1.
