After hitting a bridge seam at 80mph, and being jolted out of my new seat, and....feeling it in my lower back, I'm done with SG air shocks. I went home and called motorcycle metal after reviewing the Ohlin data. Made the order and can't wait to do the install. More to follow after the install next week.
Less than 200 miles on mine and they're not broken in until about 500. They are so much better than stock shocks that, after break in, I don't know if I'm going to be able to detect the differences to do the fine tuning. What a terrible dilemma.
The 2015 SG's are built to be low. They come stock with 12" shocks. So I ordered the 12 1/8 height since it's close to stock and it has over 3" of stroke. And I'm guessing, if they perform as good as everyone says, I'll have to do the forks as well, to complete the package. Can't wait to find out......
Low is cool looking but ride Often suffers - I ran Works Performance on my 04 for 10 years after playing with the stock air - Loved the Works and the CS is great - will be buying those next month
Stock shocks seem fine to me. 265lbs. keep it at 30lbs of air. Never have bottomed out. Hope the shocks you get do what you are looking for.
Dude, don't let the secret out. Then again the newest touring bike I have owned is on 05. Can't speak for the new models other than the ones I have taken for short rides. May upgrade the front tubes but the rear air is fine.
