I had read leaving the old wire coiled and hooked to the y would help boost signal. If it's as simple as a ground wire I'd do it. Just not sure how to go about grounding it.

I got mine almost three years ago, so I can't say if it's the exact one, but for less than 10 bucks it can't hurt to try. I eliminated my antenna wire to the tour pack. Or you can get a class D amplifier for your stereo and you'll lose fm reception anyway lol.
