The dealer told me those lowers are supposed to come off whenever the temp is over 70 degrees. Anyone else been told this?

Maybe it's just me. The speed limit in the fastest state is 75mph and yet all the complaints about the Ultra "wobbling" at 95+ and taking curves. Think about it. The bike is the 2 wheel version of a van or semi. Its big, bulky and presents a wide, least aerodynamic face of all motorcycles. Between the fairing and the lowers you are forcing air to go up, right left, down around into the engine. It's a buffeting nightmare. The profile of this beastis that of a sail, catching cross wind in the various areas between bags, trunk, seat and rider.
Yes the thing is not going to be the most stable ride at excessive speeds of 95+++ and that is to be expected. If you want to "blast away down the highway" then modify the bike for that. It has to be lowered, the windshield slope increased, take the trunk off, remove the lowers, change the riding position. In other words, either lay back or bend over forward over the tank. Dimes to dollars the "wobble" disappears.
How about we try this. Slow down, enjoy the scenery, enjoy the ride, and ride longer, not quicker.

I've seen discussions that the wobbly feeling is due to rubber mounts flexing and the drive-train moving around. There was a shop in Palm Bay FL that invented/sold a kit that replaced the lower/worn mounts with an allignment strut-type device. They wen't under so I don't know if it was a long-term fix, however, everyone who got the kit claimed that it eliminated 90% of the wobble feelings on the highway.

When you are testing it what is the wind speed and direction?

I hated the lowers it always made the bike feel unstable. took them off and no more problems.

With a 64" chest I get a lot of wind buffeting. I have ape hangerson my bike, and without a windsheild, I can see where the 'hanger' comes into play. I have to hang on for dear life. I toyed with the idea of putting on lowers, or the chrome wind deflectors, but with my mass, I better leave well enough alone. Or loose weight... nah. To much work. When I got out of the corp, I was "half" the man I am today. Pun intended.

kwas, I don't drive 95+ mph everywhere. Just when I have the room to get up to that speed, lol. In my truck I am religous about going the speed limit. But on my bike, heck no. I bought this bike for fun. And driving at high speed is fun. Not the safest, but fun. If I had wanted safe, I would have spent 16.5k on a better security system for my house, and not my bike! No offense intended, but I plan on LIVING, until I die. (Not that I have a choice on that )

If I wasn't 'sposed to go fast on my 07 Ultra then why in the world did the MoCo put a 6 speed on it... if I "do the speed limit" in 6th gearI'mlugging the motor dammnagit.

I kinda think I'm a little more stable with the wind deflectors on as opposed to off, but it's not a huge difference - there's a little wobble above 95 (and I'm barely in the meat portion of the power band rpm wise).
