Default Re-using rear floorboardn inserts HELP
Traded my '12 Limited and got a '16 Road Glide Ultra. Stripped the old bike of as much as I could including floorboards. Got front floorboards changed but can't get the rears to seat completely. When they're new they have a longer nipple that can be pulled through the small hole and once seated cut off. I don't have the extra nipple and can't get the small round nipple through the hole in the pan. Soaped, WD40'd tried everything slick (short of grease) and can't get the nipples pulled through.
Anyone faced this before or have suggestions?

Can you wrap a piece of fishing line around the nipple?

I put a thin piece of string around mine , pulled it through then cut the string off

for lube use lighter fluid.

it'll lube then evaporate dry and clean
