Makes sense, thank you. I was only given 4 spacers total.
Even with 2 clips in each, the ride has to be leaps and bounds better than stock!
Do a search on here. Many only run 1 clip with the stock height monotubes. I put 2 in mine. It's a little stiff, but after putting some miles on I really like it. Huge improvement over stock.
Buell..
I'm 250 and my passenger is 140.
I plan on using 2, riding season is coming to a close, so I'll say I'll probably have to break it in next year.

I'm on my way to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Staying in New River Gorge in a hotel tonight. When's riding season over? I didn't get the memo...
It was explained to me that passenger weight isn't a factor for front end preload. You may want to do a little searching on here and see other people's opinions. I'm about 230 lbs. After putting a few miles on since install, I felt fine with mine. The bike handles like on rails. It seemed very stiff at first. Instead of tearing it back apart and pulling a clip, I thought I'd ride it awhile. I wouldn't change it now. 4500 miles and a lot more to come this week.
I am 230 and I am only running 1 clip. I have about a thousand miles on them so far. I wouldn't want to go much stiffer and yes it is a huge improvement over stock.
Todd,
What about ride height with one clip. Did you notice much of a difference or did you measure?
Being 250ish, but...losing weight fast, I'm wondering if I should go one or two now.
Progressive and general consensus says 2, hmmm...
On a side note, Todd. Getting these ProActions dialed in.
I thought I had to stiffen up preload, turns out I was wrong.
I'm in softening mode now...
I am at the stock height. They are stiffer than stock. When I would sit on the stock setup the front would drop a little. These don't. I do have a mustang seat on it that moves me back about an inch though. I had my indy install mine. He has done quite a few of them and said that of the ones he has installed most thought 2 clips were too stiff. I though 1 was too stiff when I first had them put in and was wondering if I was even going to like them but once they broke in they are great. I am sure the Ohlins units would be even better but that is just too much money.
Thanks again.
I appreciate your help as well as everyone else!
I plan on doing this Friday, taking a day off work.
It's supposed to rain, so...that means I won't try and hurry to get them done to ride. I can take my time...
Now that, my friend, is EXACTLY what I needed.
Probably going to tackle it this weekend. With almost 40K and 10 years on the clock, I'm just going to replace the seals instead of try to salvage them.
Cheers my friend!!
the dealer sells the seals and or a rebuild kit with Seals, fork bushings, o rings, drain plug seals, etc, this is what i bought, just haven't done it yet, riding today 21c but there coming off the road next week for a long winter sleep [winter mod time]
