Default Rockouts installed

I installed 3 inserts and fudged the 4th by not keeping the alignment of the shaft. I sent John a e-mail on Friday around 4:45 and he sent me new inserts , NO CHARGE, and I got them Monday at noon. Quite a feat as he's on the west coast and I on the east. Took the bike for a short ride and it is noticeably quieter. I do have one tick and think it might be air in a lifter although I bled them down slowly on re-install of the rockers. I'll take a longer ride today and see what happens. All in all , very happy with the results.
John had said in one of his posts he uses ATF in his primary . I've tried different fluids trying to get my bike to shift smoother and to be able to find neutral easier, so I gave Mobil1 ATF a try--Wow , what a difference. Clunk is almost gone and I shift into neutral easily now.
Thanks John for a great product, service and advice.

Hi Nels,

Thanks for the kind words, glad the ROCKOUTS worked out for you.

I also hope the additional hardware... nut, washer, o-rings that I have always included were beneficial. That part seems to be getting popular! Seems someone has been reading this thread and paying attention...

Good choice on the Mobil 1 too

That link contains some good reading.. I'm thinking about doing this when I won't be riding for awhile.. I can pretty much ride year round in TX lol.. My bike is and always had been pretty damn loud and I'd love to silent it a bit

UPDATE: Went for a long ride yesterday and the bike ran real quiet. Whatever noise I had before the Rockouts is gone. One of my friends said my engine sounded as quiet as his Triumph.
Only an occasional clunk changing gears using the Mobil1 that John recommends.
Happy Happy Happy !

John, I plan on purchasing some of these from you in the near future for my 08, sounds like a great product. I have a couple of suggestions for your web page, I suggest you add the years and model bikes these apply to. Also, I see you plan on adding photos to your installation instructions, I think this is a very good idea and would make your instructions a little easier to understand and I think doing so would possibly help you sell more, so it would be nice to see those soon.

Thanks for the suggestions, all good advice. As far as the fitment, as far as I know they fit all Twin Cam engines. Certainly no one has ever said they don't fit their application. Still, being more specific never hurts, and would give some comfort to prospective users.

And you're right about the webpage. I've long been meaning to update it, but have been concentrating on the supply side, keeping amazon stocked, etc. Some installation pics will be my next priority.

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Rockouts worked well on my 2014 SG. When installing If you have adjustable pushrods try collapsing them when tightening up the rocker assembly. I found by doing this I got a better alignment. Even with the lockers there is still a fair bit of slop. Next time I have it apart I will be putting lockers on all four bolts to help with alignment.
