As a new '16 owner, I can definiely tell that the new Twin-cooled motor is much more robust than either the 103 in my '10 Limited and even the 110 in my '12 CVO Ultra. The additional compression and the new cam really do make a difference.
Chances are, depending on what exhaust you're running, that your tune is leaving power on the table. With that said, these are big, heavy Touring bikes with archaic engines. You can throw a ton of money at them trying to make them more powerful (Lord knows I have), but they're still going to be slow bikes.
Comparing apples to oranges. Last bike was a 2012 Super Glide. 96" with FP3, K&N Street Metal intake and Rinehart 3.25" slipons. Current bike is 2014 RK, 103 HO. I've added a basic stage one with FP3, PM Super Gas intake, S&S Power Tune duals and MGS 4" slipons. From my seat of the pants experience with both bikes I believe the Road King would eat the Super Glide easily in a drag race. JMO.
