I know it looks embarrassing getting up and walking your bike but my ego doesnt bruise very easily

Have you considered the more narrower primary cover? That might work

Learning how to stop and rest on Only one foot is only good IF that is the ONLY way you can ride... but to suggest to others to learn that - I disagree - by learning that - every time you stop - you lean to that one foot - again, IF that is the ONLY way you can ride -

Problem is IF that one foot Ever slips - well, you are leaning that way and it is so very easy to drop the bike - if at all possible - learning to stop with both feet on the ground - allows the bike to stop straight up and NOT leaning to one side -

I did it myself. Don't know how much total. Pretty easy just be careful the contour doesn't get messed up. Do a little bit and sit on it, do that till you happy. Watched a couple you tube videos too.

Another vote for Mean City. I had the same problem and didn't like the one foot on the ground approach (yes, I tried). I'm 5'8" and had them take 1.5 inches out of mine and put some memory foam in it. It's the "Super Narrow Mod". They also narrow up the nose of the seat. Awesome folks to do business with and the modification made all the difference in the world for me. Much better option for me since I didn't want to buy a new seat unless it was necessary.

Edit: Most folks won't need that much taken out of the seat. I came off a lowered Heritage, so I like that to have my knees bent a lot.

I'm also one of those vertically challenged folks and was on an '07 Ultra until recently. I lowered the back end and put the reach seat on it. Very happy with that set up and it rode great. I just bought a '15 Ultra low that I can almost flat foot right off the sales floor but was surprised to find out the rear shocks are those new reduced profile hand crank nitrogen shocks. Some folks like them but I like the air shocks so the minute I got it home, I took those off and put some low profile air shocks on the bike. The hand crank shocks now sit in the closet. I think I'm going to follow some of the suggestions and give Mean City a call.
Cheers
Bob

5'6" is meaningless. What's your inseam? That's what matters. There comes a point where it just can't be well done.

Ok maybe this will help since I'm 5'7 and I ride a 2010 Ultra. I will also add I have a 30' inseam. I started out with the stock low seat and I use a 1 inch Burley lowering kit with stock 13' shocks. I wasn't real pleased with the stock seat, personally I think they are junk. I ordered a C&C low profile seat with the riders backrest and the rear seat pad. This seat does sit me back 1 inch but it works perfect with my 12.5 Wild One Apes. My decision on C&C was based on their excellent reputation. I have been very pleased with the C&C and will definately buy from them again. I am able to flat foot without any problems. Hope my information was helpful.
