M/C stores always seem to mark up everything to way over MSRP...I get my Mobil1 V-Twin 20/50at Auto Zone for around 7 bucks a qt. I have been told that you can get it at Walmart but I rarely go there and when I have I never have seen it.
I went to the local Autozones to get Mobil V-twin,they dont carry it anymore.Since I went with Amsoil,I will use that and get it from a indy dealer next time.
I am putting my first oil change on the 2005 Road King with 3,000 miles. First two oil changes done by the shop with Dinosaur oil. I bought the HD Syn3 and was concerned cause someone mentioned that it might cause leaks. Hence, I came looking for the oil thread. I knew there would be one.
I am also a member of the Pelican Parts.com forum and we have oil threads there too. Only we are concerned about Porsche engines, which are also oil/air cooled. LNengineering.com has detailed analysis on oil types by independent labs that tell you in microscopic detail what is in the product. HD Syn3 actually has good levels of Zn and P. Anything over 1,200 PPM (12%)of Zn and P is good.

They usually have it in the back and not on the shelf, don't know why but you have to ask for it.

I just bought 4 qts today at my local AutoZone.
In some stores it's on a little hang on rack along with the Mobil1 10W40 sportbike oil and two stroke oilback with the rest of the oil, in others it's in back like you said.
The manager at one of the AutoZones told me that the Mobil 1 Vtwin doesn't sell enough to have it's own space in the oil rack but they carry it or can always get it. They try to carry everyone's favorite oil and some of the slower sellers is in theback of the store with overstock. I've never found it at my local Wal-Marts. Cycle Gear also carriesitbut it's about $2 a qt higher than AutoZone.
