V&H Fuel Pak Adjustments
2" Wild Pig Slip on, i also have the stage 1 and download done. I also installed the V&H Fuel Pak. I set the fuel pak to the specs from there website but it does not give me specs for a aftermarket muffler that has a bigger baffle then they use. I do get a slight popping on decel, i would try to tweak the settings, but i don't know what their setting mean. they have a total of 18 modes and do not know which modes do what. Has anyone had this problem or know what to do.Also, the front cylinder s/plug is tan and the rear one is slightly white, is this good or is it running to lean?? I'm just trying see which setting to use if anyone has this setup, let me know.
When I bought the bike back in the July ('05 Road King Classic) I also bought the SE Air Cleaner, V&H Basic slip-ons and the FuelPak at the dealer the same day I picked up the bike and installed them when I got home. The bike ran good but I had an issue with the decel pop. One issue I had was the FuelPak made the cruise control stop working - it would never set. After many calls with the dealer, time at the dealer service dept. and calls with V&H they sent out a newer "version" of the FuelPak. That took care of the cruise but the popping was still there. Eventually (within a weeks time) I installed the V&H True Duals pipes and also had the Stage 1 mapping done on the ECM. When I had this done I also removed the V&H FuelPak. The bike ran great and the decel pop was reduced dramatically. I ran it this way for about 2 weeks but I still felt like I was missing something. I decided to get a Power Commander IIIusb - I like the way you could see what setting change what. Their tech support group is also very willing to help out with any questions you may have. So now I have the V&H True Duals, Basic Slip-Ons, SE Air Cleaner, Stage 1 ECM and the PC IIIusb. I couldn't be happier. The bike runs great and the decel pop is gone. Now on decel I get a low rumble.
Of course now I have a basically brand new V&H FuelPak sitting on the shelf - go figure.

I appreciate your help. The thing is the bike runs great, I have bigger baffles then the V&H basics, they are 2" wild pigs, which may just be popping beacuae the size of the baffles. It just has a slight pop when going from 1st to 2nd gear. I also checked my plugs and the rear cylinder is whiter then the front cylinder, not sure if this is normal or not. It just pisses me off that if I want to adjust the fuel mixture, i can't because i don't know what the values mean on the fuel pak. I was going to play around with the settings, not sure. Any other suggestions please let me know.
I also went to the Wild Pigs Exhaust website and watched the "rev up" video - HERE. It sounds like those pipes in that video had a good bit of popping, and that wasn't under a load. Wonder if it could be a back pressure (or lack thereof) issue. Heck, I'm just speculating.
Apart from contacting the tech support at V&H and trying to get some assistance (which doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling) it may be a faulty FuelPak. I hate to say this but you might end up having to scrap the FuelPak and go with a PC IIIusb. Again, the PC III has many different mappings on their site based on many different pipe / muffler combinations. It also allows you to tweak the bikes performance on a per-cylinder basis.
I'd be more than happy to lend you my FuelPak as a process of elimination just to see if your FuelPak may be at fault.

I called where i bought the pigs from and he is going to give me Python baffle types that fit inside of my wild pig baffle that says will get rid of the popping, never heard of this, but he says it works and sound good. Like i said it is not that bad of a popping, but it's enough to bother me.
Lets see what happens.
i had an 03 RK which i put thunder header slip ons on the bike. i had a popping as well. the only thing i was able to do to stop it was actually cap off the left side exhaust. most of the exhaust came throuh the right anyway. so i kinda of made a 2 into 1 exhaust but kept the left side pipe. i even sprayed some flat black in the left side so it looked similar to the right. it sounded and rode great and no more popping.
