I have been searching for a removable bracket for my tour pak,and have found a few that fit with the backrest mounting kit. I like this idea but i am over thinking whether or not there was a strength issue or just a financial benefit for hd, for the tour pack to have an additional mounting bracket. I don't like the additional bulky bracket, but want it to be strong enough for the little lady to lean on. Thanks for all input.
The backrest mounting kit forward mounting point connects to a spot by the shocks. That won't work with the tour pak mount, to far forward. (At least for 2-up set up)
Tour pak needs to have the mounts under it, so there are extra (2 one on both sides) mount points.
I have one and it works fine. No problems.

It all depends on what year your bike is. The one in the link is for 09-13. They made changes to the 14 and up. If your bike is older you need to get the appropriate kit. It mounts on the 4 point docking hardware kit which you need to mount it correctly. Also have to do some rewiring depending on which bike you have. There are numerous listings on eBay for all the parts needed but it can be a pain to get all the parts together ordering them separately.

yes this is the 1 I am looking at that looks really good, I have a 2000 ultra but have stripped it to look like street glide. which brand did u go with.
That it what mine looks like and the only complaint is having to take the TP off to change my tag, which I am going to do NOW. I thought when I got the TP it would be a spare part that would mostly sit in storage or when the OL rode. Bullhockey!!! It has only been off my bike a couple times since I got it. Mine is chopped and I love it!!!! Having saddlebags are nice but a TP is the bees knees.
