The principal differences are several, bearing in mind that a US gallon is essentially a 6" cube, which the engineers have squeezed in. The 6 gallon tank is similar in overall width to yours, but is quite a bit longer and sits a little further forwards on the bike, closer to the forks. It has a bowed top, also the bottom cut-outs are smaller than your tank. The console is different, due to the shape of the top of the tank. Being longer, the nose of your seat won't fit and the rear mounting of the tank won't line up with yours.
The changes necessary aren't difficult, but they require a bit of ingenuity, to overcome to various challenges necessary to make it work. There isn't a single solution.
