New 1.5" handlebars with grips, 107 Fuel Moto kit with TW777, new rear brakes and disc, new slipons (haven't decided yet which ones), HD textured engine powder on some of the lower engine stuff, then color powder on the rocker boxes, pushrod tubes and bases, satin black powder on the wheels, ceramic on the high use items and high temp satin black ceramic on the exhaust, new tail lights, weld some of the fender holes up, new paint on fenders, gas tank, and the side plastic pos. New Handlebar dash, eliminate the tach. And in typical project creep, we'll see what else is added. All work done in house.

Mock up of the handlebars.

New bars.

Powder test.

UGLY rims!

While you're at it, throw away the stock exhaust system. Its ugly and very restrictive and frequently break at one or both of the Y's. Go to a good true dual or a good 2 into 1. Much more modern, better looking and performing.

Also maybe do some wheels, the 21" fronts are popular and easy to do. Anything taller and you will need either a triple tree change or frame cutting.

The slip on mufflers that were on there are in bad shape. one rattles from everything coming loose inside, and the other one has holes rusted through. So they will go to the scrap pile. Since its a 2007, not too many manufacturers make head pipes for it. Will be talking to the guy tomorrow that's going to tune it and see what he has been able to get decent numbers out of and what will run the best, other than a 2 into 1. I just don't care for the looks of them.

Its now stripped down to the short block and the cams are out. Looks like I should be able to get some powder coating done on it in the morning and start the reassembly as well.

I do kinda like the wheels, just they need to be stripped and coated. Had a 21 on my 2006 sporty, didn't care much for it, but I do like the look of the 16's on the RK.

Fullsac makes a pipe that converts the problematic Y pipe to a true duel system. Not the best for torque but better than dealing with the frequent cracking. Then just mount the slipons of your choice. Good choice on the year of bike by the way! And I like the factory rims. Can barely see the rear one anyway.
