Don't forget the 50 amp 3 phase alternator that was a plus on the 07 and up.
Along with the huge improvement in the starter to IP assy.
You will spend the 3400 upgrading to an 07 level and not have cruise.
Radio is the same but to add CB you also need the controls.
Comps are hit or miss and are very miss diagnosed as the problem.
I looked at 09's for the frame change but you wont touch a low mile 09 for 9K.
Like said above the TP will grow on you.
Good Luck with it.
50 amp 3 phase came with the 2006 MY, came on my 06 Ultra. As for the starter, I think it's a toss of the coin. The stock starter on my 06 has been starting my 120 without any issues. The compensator on the 07 and later is a joke, my 06 is still running the original compensator which has 42,000 miles on it.
08 ultra stock + se slipons pulled 52 mpg next to 05 e stdrd w/ac and pipes 48 mpg. That was a 430 mile trip. Made the 05 a 95 cu in and the 08 a 103 cu in. Basically same job (jugs pistons). At 65 mph average the 08 pulls 46 mpg 4 mpg better and it increases tremendously running 80 mph. The 05 would spank the 08 to 80, but would numb your *** off at 70+ on the interstate. I believe the 07 and 08 had a different gear, but still don't think it would be that much different. My 95 cu 02 heritage never got over 48 mpg.
You have one the few rare birds, god only knows how many threads or messages I've read about crummy fuel economy on the 07 and later bikes.
