I'm thinking of buying a new ultra.... If i get the 06 i would like to upgrade to a 95 or higher motor kit... or would it be better to wait a few months and get the 07 and see what options come w/ that bike.
I'm in no hurry but i have the itch for the ultra...
At this point, I would wait. I am assuming that you will be trading in your 2006 RK. If that's the case, you have something for the next few months. While I don't expect major changes to the 2007s, you never know!
The new models come out around the end of August correct? Now if the changes are drastic youâll be in line waiting for a new one and paying what the dealer is asking. But lets just say in late August Harley shows the new iron and you want a â07 Ultra. How long from then do you think youâll be riding one? I would say mid September at the earliest. So you missed riding an Ultra during the months of June, July, August and most of September. If youâre fine with that then you might as well wait. I picked my Ultra up last month because I want to ride it this summer.
I'm facing the same delima with the SG. I could be riding this summer on an 06 but if they make any major changes for 07 like they did the the dyna line this year I'll be kicking myself in the pants. It doesn't sound like you're in a hurry so I'd wait..... Thats what I'm doing.

Unless you live in an area like Phoenix. IF I don't get burnt out of the saddle by the heat I'll be riding all year.
Friend of mine was going to get an 06 inside info he recieved told him not to rush and wait for 07 that he would not be disappointed, so he is waiting on 07
Loch -- I like that ultra, thats what i'm looking to do (black w/out the backpack and a dual tour) -- thats a good looking bike man!
Right now i have the 06 road king standard and have absolutely no problem holding onto it for a few months but I dont want to put any money into the exhaust/motor since I'm sure I like the front fairing idea of the ultra. I rarely take my windshield off now and figure i might as well upgrade to the luxuries.....
