I have the Clear View recurve and stock seat. Seems with the Clear View recurve you can get a shield that is at least 1.5 inches lower than any other windshield and actually get better results. Somehow I managed to crack my first Clear View. They replaced it within two weeks no charge. They have great customer service.
I think it depends also on how the seat fits you. I have a road Zep that when inflated of course I sit higher.
I am 6' 1" and see just over the top with little or no air in the seat. I know you don't have a zep on the stock bike but I think you should wait and see how you set the bike and seat.
You may want to change the seat also.
I'm 6'5" and I have a 10" light tint that I look right over. You don't get bugs or rain in your eyes, and you have a clear view. I am also running a Street Glide seat on my 2007 FLHTC. I don't know how these 6'6" & 6'5" guys can ride with the stock seat, it pushes me way to forward, very uncomfortable, kind of like you're right on the tank. Maybe try another seat, I like the SG because it puts me back and down, not great for a passenger though. Maybe wait for your scoot to arrive, then make you're decision.
