What's my windshield problem?
I have a 13 ultra classic. I'm 6'2" with a 33-34" inseam.
I replaced the stock 12" clear shield with a 10" ultra from LRS (medium tint).
With the stock shield I get no buffeting but I'm looking through the glass a lot. I love the looks of this LRS but the buffeting is so bad I can't see 12 seconds ahead. I had to go back to stock. Now I measured and the LRS comes to the bottom of my nose which is where it should be. Why so much buffeting then?

Not sure why. I use a simple 7" harley shield. I'm 6' and my nose is even with the top of shield. I ride all over the south eastern US like that with no issues. What type helmet are you using, could be a factor.
Had not thought about that. I'm using a bell pit boss with small visor. The buffeting starts above 60 mph. Below that its fine. I have always used a novelty brain bucket but recently switched to this mushroom. Wonder is that visor could be part of the problem??
May not be a solution for you, but I just added the chrome air baffle (about
$ 26) that mounts between the forks just above the front fender.
It definitely reduces the updraft that comes up over the fuel tank.
H-D used to put these baffle (in black) on most of their touring bikes but stopped several years ago.
I thought that it may have had something to do about engine cooling so I watched my oil temperature and I can see no difference there.
If nothing else, it's another piece of chrome!

The visor could definitely be contributing. I have a half helmet with a visor and had terrible buffeting. I took the visor off and greatly reduced the problem. Unfortunately I do not often wear a helmet due to the hot climate here so I never experience any buffeting. 10" HD wind splitter works well for me too.
I am sold on the National Cycle Vstream shields. I use the 12" model on my bike and the wind hits just at the top of my head. I can see over it fine and I am 5'10". These things are literally bullet-proof. Great shield!

FYI I installed one of these on my Pal's 2011 FLHTK without him knowing...about 500 miles down the road I asked him how the wind was...sucks he says, just like always.
could be if you don't know the part is there---- you won't notice a difference.
the helmet if you wear one is a huge part of your wind experience.
when in hostile territory I wear a HD branded 1/2 with a little ducktail on the back- only one I ever had that didn't lift on the strap or bobble around.
I have a pretty good wind experience riding, I cut my windscreen so the top edge appears to intersect the road about 40' ahead ( cut the bottom, hidden, edge with a rotozip or jigsaw).
I also use the adjustable fairing deflectors to control and channel wind into the cockpit, this reduces a pressure differential
