Looking for some advise. I'd like to add some sound to my 03' EG. Would you guys recommend new lids with speaker mounts or customizing and having my bags cut out for some 6x9s? If you are in the Pensacola area, can you also suggest a shop please. I'm a disabled vet and pretty much limited as far as doing my own mounting as far as having those skills doing it myself. Where are your amps mounted? Should I also replace my stock head unit? Would also welcome any suggestions on system recommendations. Thank you!
I have used the custom 6x9 lids for my bags with Hertz Speakers and they sound awesome. My Amp is mounted in the saddlebag. I am running it off of a Ipod.
I just ordered a set of lids from J&M Rokker with 5x7's, I have the BT up front, complete kit with KW head unit and BT 7.25 and their amp. Amp mounted in the fairing. Lids should be in late this week, should be installed in week or two due to painting.

I would post this in the audio section like Gordy67 suggested. I would stay away from J&M products myself and go with Hog tunes lids just contact hogpro by phone or thru the forum, there are several speakers you can use depending on your budget same as radio and amp options
If you plan to put speakers in your lids and only play them while the bike is parked in your garage or trying to impress others at the bar - then do it, otherwise you won't get much bang for your buck trying to hear them while you ride....

Your passenger will get more out of them than you but with a good amp and speakers there is a difference for sure.

Save your money or spend it on something else, you'll be happy you did.
Hogtune's lids are the bomb, and they are built for 6x9 speakers. It's expensive, since you have to have lids painted, add speakers, and without an amp you won't hear them at speed. For that matter, even with an amp you don't hear them much. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hogtunes-har...xTtBnH&vxp=mtr
