if you bottom out the tire can shred any wiring inside the fender.
the tire can be damaged by hardware such as the seat bolt
tire rubbing can burn up the paint
it's a calculated risk which only you can figure the sums...how heavy are you? passenger? luggage? leftover crap in saddlebags? smooth roads where you live or frost heaves and potholes...
a lowered front end can have the fender smack the triple tree on a pothole...
