I wasn't aware of that spec change. Seems like a lot but if your careful it should be alright if that's what they suggest as a torque setting. I haven't had a leak yet with the 156 in-lbs, knock on wood.
Are you sure the 156 in-lbs isn't just for the pan bolts?
I always though the transmission side cover bolts were always like 10-12 foot pounds or something. I'm at work without a manual.
Yes, 156 in-lbs is 13 ft-lbs. The old spec for the trans side door was 13-18 ft-lbs, which has been changed to 23-25 ft-lbs. And I now see that the exhaust bracket is held on with the 2 bottom side door bolts not the cover bolts, so 23-25 ft-lbs is correct.

This new info brings up another question for me. What about the torque sequence? Since it's a 2013 I'm gonna say the factory used the updated spec. But I'm thinking I'll re-torque the whole cover to be sure things are as they should be.
I work in the Locomotive industry and torque specs are a big deal. Not as bad as Aviation but bad enough. I'm not a one or two grunt method guy. Being in a safety and quality oriented business, the right way is the only way.
well they don't say...but it is an aluminum cover, so erring on the safe side, I kinda do a star pattern and go up in steps...and this does help me feel the 25 ft pounds torque value when i get to the 2 "hidden' fasteners.
