Hello to all,, My name is Carlos,, I need bit of advise,, I put a set of screaming eagles touring mufflers on my 2003 R/K classic efi. with a stage 1 breather. I would like the pipes a bit louder, not dragster loud, just hear me coming loud. My question is,,, does the baffle inside the Screaming Eagle Performance pipes,, fit the inside of the SE touring pipes,?. I like the interchangeable end tips and all, but the sound could be a bit throatier. Thanks for your time.... Carlos Vargas L.A. Fireman.
I had the same touring mufflers on my 95 Roadking, and then put the same kind on my new EG Classic. The insides are not interchangeable with the SE II's to my knowledge.
As far as sound goes, you will find that in about 5,000 miles the touring mufflers will open up and have a sound that is quite a bit louder than stock, but not as noisy as the Screaming Eagle performance mufflers.
Regards,
Bill

I have basically the same question-I am getting my Street Glide in late Feb or early March and am having the 95" stage 1 done pruir to delivery. I am trying to figure out what the best pipes would be. I NEED HELP!
I went with the straight SE Slip-ons. They have a very nice sound while at idle and cruising. They are only loud when you get on it which is what I like because I don't wanna get a headache from a constant noise.
I was gonna go with the SE Slip-ons w/interchangeable tips which depending on the tips will be quieter then the straight slip-ons. The angle cut are the loudest, but still quieter then the Straights. The straight tips w/milled rings are REAL quiet. just a little info to help your options
Also TRY to see if any of the dealers have bikes with exhaust already mounted so that you can hear them. If possible even try to test ride them so you know what they will be like when cruising.
There are two types of screamin eagle slip ons that have interchangable tips.
Screamin Eagle Pro Performance # 65115-98B. These are the louder mufflers but still have interchangable tips.
They also list # 65259-00 as Screamin Eagle Touring Mufflers and they have interchangable tips. these are street legal except California. The Pro Performance says not street legal, but they are great. They have a nice deep idle but get pretty loud when you crack the throttle.
Hope this helps.
