Ok fellas, dealer install 3days ago. HDsystem with smart alarm, no pager. Fobs mated pin overide entered. Third start up in town and walked up to bike and would not dissarm with fob. Light on speedo flashing and when i climbed on red light turned on solid but no audible alarm warning that bike was being moved. Walked away and back to bike 10 times- same result. Turned ignition on and sure enough, disabled would not turn over. Twice when i was crossing parking lot far enough away it chirped twice with the turn signals flashing twice and armed itself again even though it was already armed. Had buddy come and trailer it to his shop until this morning when Dealer could come and pick it up. Stopped by with second fob this morn. Just in case dealer had to mate them again. Still same result with both fobs. Dealer called me this afternoon and said when they got there it was working fine. They played with it all day, couldn't get it to mess up at all. Siren and everything working normal. They are going to keep it for a few days and let it sit and then go back to it and see what happens. SOOO--- what to do? If they can not recreate prob. Not sure if i tell them i want all new TCM install if they will do so for me and warrantee other one. At this point i don't have much faith left in it. Next time may be in the middle of nowhere. Any thoughts or similar issues?
Can you enter the code on the infotainment system to bypass the alarm? I have not played with mine yet, but a friend lost his FOB on a trip (2015 SGS) and said he used his code to start the bike until he got home and got a new FOB.
Nope, it would not allow me to get to where i needed to be to override. That was another question the Dealer asked me. Was told that if the system recognizes a problem, it would automatically come up in trip meter when you turned the ignition on and be at the step for me to start entering my pin. It did not.
I I I similar problem and it wa determined to be my cell phone to close to the bike. Had to put it about 10 ft away and then fob functioned normally. I've never put m cell in the same pocket since and no issues. Now didn't try to manually enter the code though so that may not be your issue. Good Luck
Well Captain that is a good point, i had my fob in right pocket below my cell (smart phone) i thought of that and remembered reading that in manual. So i took it out and passed it all around seat -tank- bat wing with no result. I did not take my cell out of the picture though. Could be something to try. Im driving down tomorrow to dealer and discuss some things. Will try that when i get there. Would be very relieved if that is all it is. Dont know exactly how to geographicaly separate the two while riding. Also if a guy is on the road at 80 with truck on you a-- and the thing decides to arm itself, does the ignition go or just when you shut the bike off and try to start it again. Could be bad situation!!????
RevBlk, I had a similar issue. I forgot I had one key fob in my jacket & had the other one in my pants pocket. Bike wouldn't start. After reading my handbook about similar issues, I realized what was going on. Took one in the house & problem solved.
Ok, thanks gentelmen! Will check out the cell thing when i get down there this morning. Unfortunatly, wife has day off as well so its going to cost me breakfast at Cracker Barrel before we get to dealer! Lol
Ya know, come to think of it the fob was in the left saddle bag all night and when i walked up to bike this morning, the system was still armed. I could see the flashing light when i entered the garage, i don't know????
