I thought about doing it also, but I notice the box says no hardware included, so how does it mount in there?
I got the harley mid frame deflectors and they came with two frame bolts and two nuts you tighten down first and then remove and install frame deflectors back on. I don't know the technical name of them but they worked great.
Big + whatever we're up to on the Capt. Itch Crotch Cooler. Third bike I've had them on and I wouldn't be without one. They last forever and look like new for years and they work. I replaced the stock plastic ones on the '14 Limited and I was amazed at how much cooler it was. Not just a little..a bunch.
I noticed the heat right away on my ride home after I picked it up. I kept the ones I had on my old ride and fitted them to my 15. They fit, but I had to fab up a bracket.Much better now.
Adding mid frame air deflectors to your HD that will reduce/block x-amount of hot air coming off the rear cyl from roasting your thighs & upper legs (esp in traffic on a soggy HHH sumer day) is a no brainer IMHO!
Is it possible to use the newer style mid frame deflectors on a 04 frame? I know the left side would need a cut out for the exhaust . Just wondering, cause I can get a set of the newer style so cheap, that they are almost free. Is it worth trying?
I'm another one that like the crotch coolers from Cpt Itch. I've had them since around 2010 on my Ultra Classic. I pulled them off and put them on my 2013 Ultra Classic Limited when i bought it. i just put them over the already in place deflectors and they worked fine. Unlike the deflectors, they are one piece and go on over the frame and deflect heat from under the seat not just the sides. Like all things Cpt Itch, they're super. Can't go wrong.
