Yes. They deflect the engine heat from rolling up on you... especially at a stop light. Most are similarly shaped, don't detract from the bike's looks and definitely work.

i bought a cheap set on ebay for sturgis. they go on for the rally and come off when i get home. if you paint them they blend in nicely but otherwise its that ugly grayish black plastic. but they do work.

I have the RJS Originals. They are functional and look good also. Little more pricey but I think they are worth it.

I thought about the mid frame deflector, but I just bought and installed a Capt. Itch Crotch Cooler on my RK. What I did notice on my first ride with it yesterday, was my right thigh was not getting hot.

However, here in Fl., it has not gotten into the uncomfortable temps yet.

They make a difference and can also become a visual enhancement. I had mine painted to match the bike.
