Just curious if anybody has had a set of Kerker slip-ons. My local dealer is suggesting these for mt EGC as I want a mellow sound that will not wear you out on the road.
I have Kerker True Duals on my Road King and love 'em. They don't beat you up but are just "rude" enough to let everyone know you have pipes. They were on the bike when I bought it but I had heard they were around $750....

Kirker is the maker of the screaming eagle slipons that sound so good harley sold under the harley name for years, they are owned now by super trapp and still sell the screaming eagle mufflers that harley no longer sells. They call them super trapp SE's .
My buddy is running the Kerker Slip-ons on a 04 EGC. They are loud under acceleration, or when you Rap them! Louder then My T-Rexes. But they are not too bad just cruising around, or down the highway.
Got the Kerkers on my '06 FLHTI w/V&H Tru Duals. Sound very good, no major difference between these or the HD branded ones that are my brother-n-law's '02 FLHTC or my neighbor's '04 FLHTCUI. Wouldn't mind it a bit louder, but I'm sure once they break in good, they'll be about perfect. To me, sounds like a big twin should.
Couldn't wait for my dyno guy, so just went ahead and installed them with a canned PC-3 map w/REVxtend enabled and a Ness Big Sucker kit. No issues so far, still around 39-41 mpg the few times I've bothered to check, starts with zero issues, idles fine, no pops, no hesitations, etc.
I'm happy with it and that's all that counts to me. Significant improvements over stock and pieced it all together for a lot cheaper than the Rinehart full system I wanted at first. It's basically an overgrown lawnmower engine, so it's gonna shake, rattle, vibrate, run hot, make all kinds of mechanical noises, etc. Maybe not quite like a shovelhead would, but you still know you've got something alive below the gas tank- unlike a metric bike or your fathers oldsmobuick. Way too much whining and worrying about dyno charts and 'strange' noises around here. Get on, hammer it, and don't ever look back!
I just put the SuperTrapps on my EGC. As gunrunner mentioned, they sound almost the same as a friend's Screaming Eagle mufflers on his 03 Anniversary RK Classic (the ones that HD doesn't sell, anymore). If anything, they're slightly deeper in sound, probably due to their being new. Less than 3 dB louder than the 07 stock mufflers.
I have the slip-ons, with the packing removed from the baffles. I love the sound, and MUCH prefer them to the sound of Rineharts and V&H. I tried the Kerkers with the packing and they were a bit louder than the stock mufflers, but they sort of sounded like glass-packs on a car. Without the packing they have a nice bark, but I can still easily hear my radio at highwat speeds.
Edit:
I wanted to add that the pipes cost me around $250-300 (can't remember for sure) and that you can 'adjust' the sound a bit by removing only half of the packing from tha baffles. I tried them with full packing and half, but ended up removing it entirely. I wanted 'em louder.
