Default Locking Detachable TourPak

Anyone ever hear of somebody stealing a detachable tour pak? Wondering if I need to buy the detachable lock set it. Already have them for the sissy bar and luggage rack, but it's kind of hard to imagine anyone walking of with a 30lbs. tour pack.

People walk away with saddlebags - if you are worried about a $75 luggage rack, why are you not worried about a $1000 tour pack?

I bought the HD lock just to avoid the chance. Plus it comes with 2 locks and you can only use 1 on each accessory, so now I can lock my passenger back rest and/or luggage rack when the TP is not used. Cheap deterrent

I use this from Brukus. Might be a little cheaper than the HD lock sets.

I didn't want to pay the strealerships 75 cost for chrome ones, so I drilled two holes and put in an pad lock.

I can post pics if you like.....?

Yes, lock up your tour pack, people steal **** all the time... We had a guy a couple of summers ago walk into a headwear store for 10 min came out and his tour pac was gone...

Think how long it takes you to put your tour pac on or take it off, a thief could shave a minute or two taking it off.

Brukus or do what DanHappy did...

I used the locking latches for the quick connect mount on my tourpak. Harley has nice chrome ones to swap the ugly standard ones with the black push actuators.

I love it! That is pure genius. If some geeker crack head walked up and saw that, he'd immediately walk away. Wouldn't even try it!

I just got a matched tour pak (from an awesome and patient forum member). I bought a Motherwell locking tour pak mount. I couldn't find a lot of reviews on it, but it's ease of use was the reason I went that route (and available in black). I received it yesterday from a well known supply house (DK). No keys. I called the vendor, no problem, she pulled keys from another rack. While waiting to hear back from her I called Motherwell. Explained the situation, he said no problem email your info, I'll send some out. Now I'll have spares. Once my 4 point mount shows, I'll throw it on.
