Default Safe, effective degreaser for engine?

What do u guys like to use for a filthy engine to wash all the grime away. I like s100 total cycle cleaner bc it cleans the grime off very good without having to try and scrub every nook and crannie on the engine block/fins, but I noticed lately some white corrosion type spots on the machined fins on the heads and not sure if the s100 caused this, but I have seen posts where people said it can if u don't rinse it well enough. Curious what other engine cleaners u guys might be using?

If you use Simple Green,do it on a cool engine and do not let it dry on engine.Pretty much the same as S100.

Yes, pretty much common sense not to spray cleaner onto a hot engine or let it dry. Just not sure if the s100 caused these white spots on the fins where maybe it dried and I didn't rinse it enough

I've always used "Gunk" on a hot engine. Let cool down then rinse with garden hose. Then ride and dry! Has worked for years!

No clue why I have never thought to try the gunk engine cleaner, used to use it on my truck years ago and worked great. Gonna have to pick some up tomorrow. Does the foaming gunk work best

I use the foaming engine cleaner as it seems to work best.
