just have an easy question. i just ordered the fullsac duels this morning. i know on the right side the shields are not going to match. i dont like the idea of how it will look with the existing heat shield turned around 180 deg. i need to know the length of the this gap so i can order the new piece and have a solid heat shield. i am keeping all of the other heat shield. looking fo for the measurement from the timing cover to the begining of the pipe. if i need 2 peices that will befine.
i would measure mine but it is in the shop for a couple of more days.
There will not be a "gap" between the 2 heat shield.
There's a visible line where they meet, and the cut-outs at the front and rear points are hardly noticable.
You might want to try them the way fullsac suggests first.
I was telling the owner of an independent (Harley only) shop about the conversion and he wanted to see them.
I went over , and he looked at them and said "pretty cool" and it wasn't until I showed him what I did with the factory shields , that he even noticed.
He may get a set after seeing mine for his new Road Glide.
It's hardly noticeable.

The next piece back you use your stock heatshield, but you will need to cut off a little of the curved end towards the back. Next piece I bought a 12 inch section from JP. Here is the link for it. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...=Harley&page=1
I wasnt able to find one piece to run the full lenght. This is the end product.
Hello: I just installed the Fullsac conversion on my 2006 Road Glide and is sure makes a difference! Also, I have the V&H basic slipons and Fuelpak. I am using map no. FP-0146. The RG seems to run stronger and really sounds great. Fuel mileage seems to be the same. Also, there is a decrease in heat on both sides for the rider and passenger. I reversed the heat shields per Fullsac's recommendation and they look ok. But, I would like to find replacement heat shields. Does anyone know where to find them and what their size should be? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
