unless you buy a cheap Windows laptop (which is what I did, couldn't see sullying my Mac with Windows) it's your only choice.

I went this route too. I have a Mac for all my important stuff....
I bought an HP laptop from Costco and it has all my PV stuff on it. It just stays in the garage..... I didn't want to infect my MAC w/ windows...
Once every couple months I break it out and update my PV. I also use the WinPV software to get an extra license if needed (I have two bikes and a couple close friends), compare tunes, and/or mess with tunes myself...
I actually do more with it than I thought I would......
I wouldn't bother with the virtual machines unless you want to run Windows regularly. By the time you pay for all the software you could have got a cheap laptop or tablet without the hassles of installing and setting up the software.
I picked up an Acer One tablet here on sale for $250Can, probably get them in the US for considerably less. The keyboard and screen separate turning it into a tablet.
