I know this is a picayune question, but I lost my foot peg and bolt today. I have another foot peg (minus the bolt) but I don't know the bolt size. Seems like 5/16 fine thread. Anybody know the length of the bolt? Or anything else I might need to know before I go to the hardware store.

Why not take the other foot peg off and take the bolt from it to the hardware store with you?
