He is a question I have never seen. I,m 58 years old and I teach martial arts and for my age I think I'm in good shape however after a ride on my road king I find sometimes when I put my legs down at a stop light, both of my hips will almost seize up to the point if I don't stand up immediately I'll drop the bike. The RK is extreme y comfortable and I have running boards and highway pegs which I alternate back and forth.. Does this happen to anyone else and if so what can be done? I'm six foot tall and weigh 208 lbs I don't find the ride cramped in any way
I do best when i sit up right ( like a cop), with much of my upper body weight thru my abs, on the legs to the floorboards- I find this helps with control as well.
feet facing forwards not splayed to the side
I have to keep my knees below my hips
I bet you are in better shape than I...this could be from your recent crawling around playing with your mufflers

I've got osteoarthritis in both knees & after driving my car or sitting for 20 minutes I can hardly walk. I'm able to move my legs around while riding & that makes a big difference. I also get corticosteroid knee injections every 6 mons. I've been getting the injections for 5 years & no problems. I suggest you ask about your doctor. But make sure he sends you to a OA doctor. GP's just don't have the knowledge. I know this to be true.
I also get the cramps in my hips at times right where the leg connects hurts like hell too!, hard to hold the bike up when it hits. I have not figured it out other than it is usually happens after I make a sudden change, such as switch feet while at an stop light or pushing the bike back and catching a tip. And I am 57!
Perhaps you need more stretching.
Do you do many yoga poses?
It might help.
As we age, we need to work at maintaining our balance, flexibility, and range of motion. Best of luck to you.
