I have the J & M speakers and they sound great. I have never used the Hog Tunes so I can't compare them. Mine have a lifetime warranty. I bought them at Daytona at the Spring Rally.

How about doing a test for us. Put the J&M on one side ONLY. Then, ride around for a couple days.. really try it out. This will give you (and us) a definate side by side comparison. If you swap them both out, then you are relying on memory. Subtle differences are hard to quantify switching everything out at once. From what I've seen on here, John and Pez are BOTH stand up guys.

as I said in one of those previous speaker posts that (got wound all around the post, J&M vs Hog Tunes) the nice thing about the J&M/Harley speaker upgrades is that the tweeter is moved out on to the grill so that the special hard, stiff, injection molded polycabonate woofer cone can movethe maximum amount of air ,,,,,,

Hog Tunes, Hog Wired, J&M.... can't somebody just make up my mind.
Thinking I need to upgrade as well and was wondering if replacing speakers alone will make enough difference with stock radio and no amp?

I have Hog Tunes in my RoadGlide and I DO think they are an improvement, certainly, over the oem speakers. But I did see a note that the Hog Tune speakers are 5.25 ohm rated, and anything less than 8 ohm rated speakers will eventually burn-up the amplifier section of your radio.
Can anybody verify this? Would sure like to know................and thanks.

well i can tell you right now ,stock harley speakers suck azz,it is a shame to spend $20,000 on a bike and have to upgrade the speakers.this all started with a buddy of mine that had a 2004 roadglide,he put j&m speakers in it and loved them.now he has a streetglide like mine and decided to try hogtunes,which i have,he likes them but thinks his j&m was better,so i decided to buy the j&m to see a side by side comparison,same bikes ,same cd and we will see what sounds better.i just hope i get them by friday.....

I am a huge J&M fan I am a musician on the weekends with a pretty nice size recording studio in my house for jingles. Please take note. If you have a 06 or 07 touring bike DO NOT waste your money on the speaker upgrade. I have a 2007 Street glide. I liked the idea of the outside tweeter from J&M. I have a good ear guys. The Harmon Kardon speakers that come with the bike are as good if not better that the J&M. Please remember I like J& M products. I had a 2005 K1200 BMW with the full blown J&M system. I like their products and their service. But in this case If I took the stock speakers out to look at them first I would have never placed the J&M speakers in. The magnets, and tweeter are the same if anything the bass might be stronger on the stock speakers the highs might be better on the J&M speakers. I like the way the J&M look with the little exposed tweeter. I wish It would have been a better upgrade. They are just over 100 bucks so If you want to make your fairing look a little fancy do it it will not hurt. Again J&M is an awesome company they make the best head sets out there by far (I have 7 sets to choose from ) IF You want to spend $$ spend it on a Garmin Zumo 550. It is the best cycle gadget available. Its a GPS a MP3 player and a XM radio (with the antenna) It comes with all the hardware and I ran a plug into the AUX in on my radio. I now have turn by turn commands and a MP3 player. I must say Again I think J&M is a great company but in this case its NOT an upgrade on the front speakers..... Peace.

i apprieciate your oppinion,but i will say the hogtunes i have now blow away the stock speakers,no if ands or butts..i bought a set of j&m for my own comparison,if your right i will be first to say so.but like i said the stock speakers are garbage..(MY oppinion anyways)

I will admit that the Harley factory speakers on the '06-'07 systems are the best they have ever made ,,,, but they do NOT move as much air or pound as much bass at full volume on the highway as the J&M speaker upgrades do, for both the StreetGlide/Ultra or the Roadglide fairing ,,,,,
I test them side by side on the exact same CD track ,,, both sitting still and riding at 85+ MPH ,,,,,,,
anytime anyone wishes to ride up along side my ultra ,,,, (((which is sitting right now at the J&M audio trailer in Myrtle Beach SC)) with the stock Harley speakers ,, we can switch identical CD's back and forth ,,,, and I will wager all the coors lite you can fit in your pick-up on which ones you will like better ,,,,,,
