Then when I reload the tune, the new stock tune is stored in "slot 0". This is one of the drawbacks to actual ECU tuning as opposed to just adding a fuel manager. It is possible you may have had the same issues with a PCV. Can't say for sure as it is a different scenario, but it's possible. It's an unfortunate problem you had. I've leaned on V&H for help before and they have treated me right in the past. OTOH I know someone got into a losing battle with Dynojet over a PCIII, so I suppose it can happen.

Best of luck with the Harley tune.

I took a look at the cost of a HD tuner and to have them Dyno my bike or go with the FP3. I saved loads of money going with the FP3 and the bike is tuned great. I don't need to tune out power bands I never ride in or get the tune right down to exact best it could ever be and squeeze out power limits I would never even feel at the seat because I'm not racing this bike. No need to go the Dyno route if all you plan on doing is stage I (exhaust and air). You're right that no matter what tuner you are putting in, you risk the complexity of troubleshooting and dinking with the issue if things go wacky with your the bike. I read all kind of threads about people having issues with their bike and suspect it's their PV, PC5, Thundermax, SERT, etc... They are all great products too... I would have brought the bike back to stock and re-tried another FP3 before I called it crap.

I mentioned in another post, that appears to have been deleted along with others, that this was a replacement unit already. I didn't go wacky with tunes or anything of the sort. Simply put in auto tune as advertised and it glitched with OEM equipment causing the bike not to start. And wouldn't respond to undoing the auto tune or flashing to previous maps. I mentioned dyno because I plan on doing cams and possibly head work. Never said I was doing a dyno for just the stage 1. I had also had one on my Dyna, no issues with that one. Guess I just got a few lemons. But I'm not a fan of lemonade so decided to sip OEM coolaid and be covered in the event of any other issues. The FP3 cost me money in the long run, even with the refund...
