Default Need a good locksmith in the DFW area

All

On my wife's 2011 electra glide, I installed a set of bags from a 2014. I was hoping to use the locks from her existing saddlebags but the stop on the back of the 2011 locks is in a different location than the ones on the 2014 bags - go figure.

So I need to get these locks rekeyed to match the ignition. I know I can get new locks from HD but it is probably cheaper to get it done by a locksmith if I can find one who actually answers the phone (most use an answering service to send folks out) - I am looking for a physical shop I can go to.

Any suggestions?

Action Lock-Doc in Richardson does good work for all my lock/key issues. Last week they did a programmed transponder/keyless entry key for me.

I got a new, keyed to my current keys, lock for $20 from Hal's HD online. $40 to solve your issue. Not sure you can get a locksmith for less than $40. Can't even get a car door opened for less than that.

Unless Hal's is giving more than 50% off, it won't be anywhere close to $40 for two locks. When did you order and what year bike?

Each lock on the 2014 and later saddlebags cost $48.99 MSRP. I even looked up the locks for a 2011 (which has a different part number and they are also $48.99 each.

Thanks buddy. Called them and like everyone else, nobody wants to work on the ACE style barrel locks. He said he might be able to get me a replacement set so that they match each other but it would cost as much for him to rekey the locks (either their replacement or the mismatched ones on the bike to match my ignition as HD charges for a complete set ($100).

Yep, sorry. I ordered the lock for the tour pak and thought they were the same as the bags.

Just thinking. Could you go the opposite way and just change the ignition key ?

Dealer can rekey yours last time I had it done they did not even charge me. They used the same locks it took them minutes to do it.
