You people are all crazy. 99% of harley riders are not readers of this forum, they dont heavily mod their bikes because they dont obsess over heat, etc, and their bikes are not all burning up by the side of the road.
Stop fussing and ride.
Yessir. The only people that get worked up over fans and old coolers are those people who are selling them.
Meanwhile Harley offers a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty on their fan-less, oil-cooler-less bikes. Same warranty in Arizona as Alaska.
These bikes were designed to be air cooled, and they don't give a damn about temperature. They're torture tested in Arizona where they're idled until they run out of gas.
Run synthetic oil. Change it every 5,000 miles. Stop worrying about it. Heat will not hurt your motor.
AMEN. As a MN flatlander, I don't worry about it much. I've taken yearly trips on my 03 RKC with it's 95" and now 107 all bore into the desert in July. And road the p!ss outta it for hours and days on end. I didn't worry about it.

Yep, I agree. I will say also, that 99% of Harley riders ride their bikes 2000 miles over 3 years, then try sell their precious little gems for twice what they're worth. You know, its an investment.
I'm running my stock oil cooler with my 107 at 10.25 compression, no issues.
I did replace the air temp gauge with an oil temp gauge, but I've learned to...stop fussing, and ride...
i've shot head temps with a temp. gun and seen temps up around 294 to 315 shot at the spark plug area on the head and then at the exhaust valve area. temps. around the cyl. base i've seen 235-265 on a pretty hot day. i've done this on different bikes and all of them seem pretty close to being the same.
The last several months my operating temp has been way too cold, just now getting out of the thirties in the morning. Im thankful for the warmer temps, the hotter the better, bring it on. Im so over being cold!
The word " Denial " & or old saying " head in the sand " comes to mind after reading statements like above here some guys are posting in this thread when it comes to excessive heat air cooled TC HD motors generate vs all the multiple benefits i got right off the bat when doing so/addressing the excessive heat my air cooled TC HD motor was producing that reduced oil temp 50+deg f in summer heat.
I cant believe there are more then just a few guys posting here that seem to be completely closed minded to things or think they know better when they in fact have never tried the 2 cooling mods at the same time on their bikes in summer heat to experience the benefits 1st hand for themselves before posting their completely incorrect opinions based on absolutely nothing because they never tried it & continue to argue the point when they have absolutely no experience at all with when it comes to cooling thier air cooled HD's.
I go by facts & not just opinion based on nothing like some guys here because they never tried it which is just BS.
Enough said!
Scott
Scott, there is a little pills that go by the names of Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil... Ever tried them? Stress is a killer or at the very least takes days off of your life. Maybe spend some time protecting yourself and less worrying about other's motors. Just my 2 cents bro.
