Default iPod Mounting ideas

Any ideas how to mount a 4G iPod Nano near the Aux input on an 07' Road Glide without going to some gawdawful RAM mount?

Try the link below. Mine is on the way, I didn't like the ram mount option either.

I bought one of these. It's a wireless remote control that you can either wear it on your wrist or strap it to your handle bars. You can leave your ipod in the fairing glove compartment and not worry about docking or wires running around. It's also water resistant and shock proof. Plus it's only 49 bucks. That with a retractable aux input cord and you're set.

Check this out, Waterproof Nano Ipod Holder.

http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products...p?prod=RAM-AB3

They also have one for the full size Ipod.

If you don't want one that is waterproof then try this one.

Not for nothing but that RAM thing looks like a trailer hitch.

I got one figured out for the Street Glide. I ran a wire from the AUX jack straight down to the neck and tucked it into the wiring harness so there is no slack, then ran it under the console. I also did the same thing on the other side with an iPod charger that is plugged into the cigarette lighter.
I then mounted a little magnetic mound to the console right where it meets the seat.
So when you are on the bike the iPod is mounted on the console in front of you and the wires come out from the front of the seat and plug into the iPod. Very clean and functional.

Nice job!

Your idea reminds me of a console I just saw in one of the latest bike magazines. The article was from a trade show and the Ipod was mounted inside the console. It had a little window for the ipod screen and another open space that over the ipod control wheel. So the console basically looked like a chrome dash and the ipod was in side of it. They didn't get into how it was wired.

You could just do this..it's what I did, Velcro a rubber Nano belt clip to the dash and you're all set...

Nice! I have the means to do this and it keeps things right in front. Great idea! Do you have any pics of this?

I bought thefairing 3 pouch, and use it with the device I bought to charge the iPod and play it through an FM radio channel. I plug the device into the cigarette lighter, put the frequency selector into the far left pouch and the iPod into the center pouch.

When I leave the bike for any period I take the iPod out of the pouch and leave the other stuff connected.

Just a thought...
