Look familiar? shocks help but the problem is the **** poor designed header. I just went with a Fuel moto header and the stock shields.

I put my bike on the lift and laid a level on a scissor jack and raised it so it touched on both sides of the frame then measured up to the heat shield and had 3/4". Neither one of us has marks on our heat shields, but then we don't ride like you do.

I know it's your bike and you'll ride it like you want to but step back for a minute and realize the consequences if you over do it.

You may want to look at the S&S Power Tune Duals. No experience with them but have heard a lot of good reviews. Running a de-catted head pipe myself right now and happy with it. Personally I don't care for the look of the V&H and when I'm ready to change out my head pipe, the S&S is what I will be going with.

If I do anything at all, that's probably going to be what I do. I think an inch more ride height would create substantially more lean angle, plus better ride and handling.

I believe you and I ride the same. I have SS PowerTune duals and Ohlins HD 22 I believe. They sit at 13" but when you sit on it there's no real diff in height from an asthetic appearance to a stock 12", i.e. it doesn't look high. Rides good.
Good luck man!

Mine does it too. It's much worse now than when I first noticed it and snapped this pic.

I've been running these for a couple of years. They look right, work well, fit good, don't drag and weren't overly expensive. I would recommend them if you end up changing out your header.

I am not real sure where you are going with this. The problem exists with the bike leaned over so the measurement would be in degree's from the contact patch of the tire and bottom of the header. It is majorly amplified by the stock suspension compressing too much without recovering. There are more than one person reporting issues.

I hear what you are saying about pushing it but some times on unfamiliar corners with dips and bumps in them I would rather not introduce a potential problem. The floor boards are hinged to give you a warning shot and they should touch before the pipes or frame.

You probably went with them like I did...wanted the decatted crossover headers and sorta liked the look? On my 13 Road King I had V&H Dresser Duals (True Duals) They looked good. They'd drag a little, but not like these Power Duals. And while I do think they look good, they don't look so good I'm locked in to them for that reason. The other suggestions here seem like better alternatives. I just hate to throw something away that costs that much, and respend more. Makes me sick to do that.
