Default Headers dragging

So I "built" my 16 Limited. You can see the details in my sig. It runs great. The HD shop told me I'd get the BEST HP/TQ out of a 2 in to 1. I don't like that look, and wasn't worth the added 3HP/TQ or whatever. I went with 2-1-2 V&H Power Duals. I like the look ok, but the header look, or that V&H heat shield isn't that big a deal. The real issue is they severely reduce lean angle on the right side. I don't mind them scratched up from cornering, but the difference from the right side to the left is noticeable. Moreover, when you get down on a floorboard, it gives...the header doesn't give so much. On roads that are not as smooth it hits hard at times. I'm afraid it's eventually going to leverage the back tire enough to induce a low side fall. Suggestions on another 2.1.2 brand of header that won't hang so low? Is there one?

I just finished a long weekend in the Western NC, E. Tenn. and N. Georgia mountains. 1400 miles plus. The bike came home with 2700 plus miles on it. The header heat shield already looks like what you see below. I guess I'll be replacing the heat shield soon unless I find an alternative header system.

Look at the lean angle in your signature pic and that's leaning left. Maybe you were meant for a superbike racer or something. Looking at that picture your pretty much almost ready to eat **** there as well. Slow down enjoy the ride and realize there are lean limits on your bike.
With all the twisties and frost heaves and dips in the roads here in the Idaho mountains (rocky mountain range) I have never dragged my pipes or floor boards. The pipes on my Fatboy low hang lower then my damn floorboards and still no rub. Just saying man be careful brother. Live to ride another day.

Thanks. My enjoyment of the ride comes from running the twisties hard. I understand there are limits too. Also may need to add another bike to the garage, BUT in this case, the limits imposed by my headers are dramatically different on the right side. That's all I'm trying to correct. If your enjoyment of the ride comes from a leisurely roll through the mountain scenery, I'm cool with that...as long as you let me pass when I come up behind you.

Fuel Moto Jackpot 2-1-2 has the same profile as the factory head pipe. It even reuses the factory heat shields. A lot of people complain about the Vance & Hines dragging.

Maybe a 2 into 1 exhaust would help? They are a bit higher on the bike since they don't need to cross under the frame.

Thanks! I'd heard about the V&H, but didn't think it would be THAT big an issue.

My bike is lowered just about 1" with my ohlins cause of my short *** legs and I like to ride a little bit low myself on the twisties. We hit tail of the dragon last year and the tip of my boot was touching the ground and my Dragos were fine. they are a 2:1 but perform great and sound even better to me.

May be. Everything is a trade off, but I just don't like the look of the 2 in to 1 on touring bikes. Great on softtails. Not for me on touring.

Am considering upgrading the rear shocks as well, but damn they are expensive!

Ride it like you stole it! But....the V&H header scraping issue is known and well documented. Just know the limits I guess. Strictly theorizing here, but wonder if a touring shock raised a little would alleviate this? Like an Ohlins 13in vs a 12in...again, just thinking out loud.
