Quick update. I have a few hundred miles on her now, and loving the Klock Werks even more. A few big bug splats on my forehead, but I have a clear view of the road, enjoying the scenery more, and love the wind blocking. The Road King, in my humble opinion, is the best looking bike on the market, and a great long distance ride. For me, this just sweetens the deal. I'll post another update in a few thousand.

Cheers,
Doc

I thought I'd toss my 2 cents in here as well.

I just got a ClearView Recurve 19.5 inch to replace my stock windshield. I am 6'2 and i could not believe the difference. I have a nice air pocket. At 75-85 MPH passing semi's without any issues as I go around them.

I was honestly shocked how much quieter it was than stock.

They usually have a lead time on them because they are a small company, but I checked to see in they had any "blemished" ones sitting around and they did. I got a 25% discount and the shield was at my house 3 days later.

Cool, pleased to have many opinions expressed here, very helpful. There are are some excellent companies out there. It seems many of us find the stock windscreen less than satisfactory. I pulled the switch on Clock Werks, and am very pleased, but clearly there are other options. Keep the conversation open.

Cheers,
Doc

I've been following this thread because I just bought a new RK and really hate the stock shield. I took the cheapest option first and cut it down myself. It's now a 16" and it is really great. Visibility is now great and the air still flows over my head. I might try one of the recurve ones someday but for now it works for me.

I have the LRS 18" smoked recurve. Im 6'2" and I see over it completely. The recurve portion really makes a difference with the buffering.

Update. I just did a 350 ride to Buffalo, NY. About half way through I noticed a half dozen or so hairline cracks emanating from the outer edge of the Flare in the middle of the lower recurve on the left side. This was during normal highway riding, no impact at all, and is clearly a defect in the windscreen. I contacted Klockwerks two days ago, but have not gotten a response. I'm assuming they will make this right, but am still waiting to hear.

I am pleased to say that the good folks at Clock Werks are making good on their warranty. I plan to stop by their shop in South Dakota in August, where they will install a new screen. A big thumbs up for them! So far the cracks have not noticeably propagated, so I should be fine until then.

I'll post a full review later, but so far I am really loving this screen. Over 5000 miles on it so far, it really cuts down the turbulence, and keeps the breeze off my hands.

I’ve been reading this thread, since I made a deal today on a 2009 Heritage. It has a KLOCKWORKS windshield and I have never seen a windshield with so many cracks. It has spiderweb cracks around most of the mounting holes, and big spiderweb crack on the lower part of the shield. The most surprising are cracks about 1/2 inch long all across the top edge of the shield. Looks like stress cracks from the forming process, but who knows.

Im still weighing my options on a replacement, but am leaning toward a Clearview. I live in the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas, so I foresee a lot of 60mph and under riding, and I have avoid the interstate whenever possible. All that to said that high speed wind protection isn’t a big deal for me.
