I put headers/slip-ones and air filter on yesterday. I only rode a couple miles last night when I finished. I was riding today and I noticed there is a red key light on. Could that be because of something I did? I assume it is some kind of security error code?

 

More likely to be a flat battery in the key fob

 

I don't think a bad Fob battery would cause your problem. A dead fob would just prevent the bike from starting. Did you try checking for DTC codes. A little more info about the bike might also help.

 

An electrical short will do that.


Check for a banged wire or bare copper.
