Default expandable stage 1?

I have a 05 electraglide (88 CI) and I am considering adding a stage 1, I am looking at a kit from DK custom, I am considering the "Chrome Bobber Style Complete HiFlow 587 Air Cleaner Twin Cam" the "V&H Twin Slash Round Slip-ons for Harley Touring - Chrome" and the "Dynojet Power Vision Flash Tuner w/ Auto Tune"

for now this would be the set up, In about a year I will be addressing the cam chain tensioners at that time I will go with the SE hydraulic tensioner system and add some mild Cams.

my logic is to spread out the investment over time, and if I have to replace the cam tensioners to do cams at the same time. my understanding is without the stage 1 the cams will not work right.

so what else would be needed to make this set up work with Cams.

or is there a better way to go about this upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

A "Stage 1" setup will have no bearing on whether the cams will work correctly. What will have an effect on the cams is that they are installed properly along with the proper push-rod specifications. The engine will benefit from the "Stage 1" because it will be able to move the air more efficiently thus resulting in a cooler running engine. The cams will allow the valves in the engine to stay open a bit longer which will also help cool the motor to some degree.

is your bike fi? either way, you are going to be limited with the power vision. in order to auto tune, you need to have o2 sensors. don't believe you have any.....

Stage-I best bang for the money.

For the cam tensioners go with the newer style ones, with new cam plate and hydraulic
tensioners, and high flow oil pump.

If it was me before changing cams I would go big bore kit with 10.0:1 compression pistons.
B-B piston kits will give you either a 95 or 98 inch engine, and for your 05 you can get by with
a FuelMoto Micro Tuner.

As for cams you have a lot of choices out there, Andrews, S&S, and Screaming Eagle.
If you keep the heads stock, limit the life to about .510, witch means you can use the
new 103 Hi Output cams, or SE 204 or SE 211 cams.

Exactly!!! No O2 sensors on your 05. Only way to benefit from using the Power Vision is to add O2 sensors or upgrade to the AutoTune Pro.
