Hey all 2009 FLHR. Just put a new starter clutch in. Things have been good since. Had a couple days of rain & haven't been able to ride. weather broke today so I took it out of the garage. Fired up no problem. After locking up the shed, I got on it & nothing. I thought perhaps one of the leads from the battery was loose. Upon inspection they were fine. I turned the ignition back on & heard a buzzing noise below the battery. Checked the wires on the starter again nothing seemed amiss. I put a multi-meter on the battery. 12.8 volts. When I turned the ignition on the voltage dropped to 4.7, without hitting the starter button. Any ideas? Thanks

Battery sounds toast. Or your main breaker if your bike has one.

Get the battery load tested. If it's the OEM battery from 09 I would guess it's toast.

Besides checking your battery (how old is it?), make sure to check the ground
wire very carefully, sometimes you have to take it off to thoroughly inspect it.
I've had it happen on a couple of bikes, corrosion on the ground cable will bite
you in the *** sometimes.

Corosion on either wire can get you. Not only do they need to be tight they need to be clean and corosion free. Corosion can hide from you and creep way up the wire under the insulation. Also, be sure to check both ends of both wires.
Another thing to do is take the battery and have it load tested before you just dump it.

I agree you should have the battery load tested.

You can remove the battery and take it to any auto parts store or ...

you can buy a battery load tester. Cheap and convenient. Here is a link for one at Tractor Supply. It is $20. You don't even have to remove the battery. It is the same type used by the auto parts stores. I'm sure there are different brands and different prices but this is only for reference.
