Default 2014 Road King - Changing Turn Signals

Hey all,

I did a search of the forum about replacing the stock rear turn signal assembly on my '14 RK with the RG-style bullet rear turn signal assembly (halogen, not LED). I checked the HD accessory site and there are two choices (Bullet Rear Turn Signal Light Bar Kit-68617-04 -and- Bullet Rear Turn Signal Light Bar Kit-68615-04). Can anyone tell me which kit is correct for a '14 Road King?? I'm hoping the kit has a built in tag light because I want to keep the stock license plate location.

For the front of the bike, I want to remove the stock light bar assembly/turn signals. I plan to install the Engine Guard Mounted Fog Lamps-68000118. For front signals I want simple bullet signals to match the new rear signal assembly. I want to mount the front turn signals to the lower bolt location on the nacelle with a single treaded bolt so that I can retain the rubber grommet/washer assembly for mounting the removable windshield when needed. The problem is, I can't determine the corresponding part number for the front bullet turn signals.

I did something similar to my '04 Fat Boy by moving the front bullet turn signals from the handlebars to the lower bolt location on the panel behind the headlight assembly. I recall using a threaded bolt with locknuts that allowed me to place the removable windshield mounting hardware on the bolt between the bullet signal and the bike. It worked great.

Can anyone confirm the correct part number for the aforementioned RG-style rear turn signal assembly (68617-04 or 68615-04), and a part number for the front bullet turn signals?? I'm going all halogen, not LED.

Thanks all...

Ultraboy - Thanks for your reply. HD's current online accessory site does not recognize 73314-10. However, that number did come up in older online posts/sources as a rear RG-style light bar kit.

So, I'm still seeking confirmation for the correct part number for the aforementioned RG-style rear turn signal assembly (68617-04 or 68615-04), and a part number for the front bullet turn signals in my initial post?? Both for install on a 2014 Road King.

Anyone?? Thanks again...

Tried to link Ronnies HD parts finder.
What you need for the rear is a foreign 2014 Ultra Limited light bar. The number I gave you was wrong.

I did this same conversion on my 15 Road King, and I don't think the rear signal bar from 04 will work due to the different fender widths. The one I used that has the license plate light and bolts right up, is the 09 Street Glide rear turn signal bar. I don't have the part # with me at work but can send it to you tonight.

I have to agree the pancake lights pretty much suck on a Road King.

See signature pic.

Those part numbers fit the 2013 and earlier RK Classics only. The 68615-04 is for US bikes and the other is for other countries. Check the Fitment tab on the HD site and it'll tell you. Someone else can chime in on this for your fitment.

For the front turns you are interested in, you might be looking at P/N 69577-06A.

For a direct replacement for your front/rear turns, it might be P/N 69147-03A for the chrome. But this uses your existing light bars.

I don't think HD sells the RG/SG rear light bar as a stand-alone part direct to the customer for an RK, but can be ordered from your dealer as a complete assembly with P/N 67800132 for the newer bikes. It is an SG/RG part number, so it won't show up for an RK.

I put the front bullets on and installed complete SG rear fender that already had the bullets. I also used CD Bullet Ringz since they had more chrome and continued the look of the bullet housings.

Ultraboy is correct - I looked up the light bar for the 2014 Ultra and the 2009 Street Glide and they are the same part # 68997-09. That's the one I used in my conversion and it works perfectly. I did find it easier to remove the tag light from the original "2x4" turn signal bar and swap it out with the one that came with 68997-09, don't remember exactly why but probably due to the connector.
