Default 07 FLHX primary fluid quantity?

My manual says 38 ounces of fluid in the primary. The 06 holds 32 oz. (one quart), did they increase the capacity of the primary? Why? Also is there a mark that you should fill the primary to?

Forget about quantity, use the mark. There is a diaphragm on the clutch basket, with the bike sitting level the oil should just touch the bottom of the diaphragm.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I usually fill it up until it touches the silver ring around the clutch basket.

Youll find it will take more than the early models,I used to just put in a quart on my 05 ,when I changed oil on my 07 put in a quart and WTF came nowhere close to the clutch,OK maybe I better read the manual...yep takes more 38oz wet 44oz dry according to mother harley, didnt measure but had to put more than a quart..
