So got this jvc deck now, and same result, volume goes up but nothing else ....fml

 

I think you and I just got a bad unit but to try and get them to exchange it is impossible but you should try. I will say again the Hawg Wired is $$ but it just plain works! It is made for a Harley and not 100's of vehicles. Knowing what I know now I would have bought the entire set-up from them. I hooked it up, set the d.i.p. switches for my HU and works like a charm! I really do know how frustrated you are because I worked many nights making sure everything was right. Reprogramming, resetting, getting a great ground and quadruple checking the wiring. I know it was all good just didn't work for me.

 

Ok...so update for everyone...thanks for all the help...went to my laptop and uploaded the files to update the firmware on the Metra box itself...took like an hour...said it was updated to the latest firmware...I said um no lol and forced update, ran downstairs and plugged it into the bike...have all the controls...makes me think either the other radio was good or caused the issue...regardless I like this jvc deck a lot more and am keeping it this way...thanks for all the help, will update tomorrow on the road trip...

Good to hear. I've used Biketronics in the past as well. Simple and easy. I went with Metra this time because of the price.

 

Glad you got it to work! I did the update before starting the install and had no luck!
