Despite being a short-*** I keep my bike at stock ride height, partly for comfort, especially when 2-up, but also cornering clearance. With a little effort I can get one foot flat when stationary, but not the other one, however that is probably applying the rear brake or about to change gear. Rejoice in your longer legs!

If you are 6-1 you should be able to flat foot it. My adivice would be a seat mod to reduce the bulk between your legs. That will give you the perception of a lowered bike.

From grbrown, his advice is sound, on this point. I am a RK to Heritage to RK rider. Both bikes are great. Big change in center of gravity and seating position etc. Time in the saddle is your friend here, before lowering. I have been there, also. There are trade offs with all we do on these bikes. Lowering is a last resort IMHO.

Have a fatboy and RK. You will get used to the taller, higher seating position. Do not change shocks, keep maximum travel with the 13's. One thing that made the RK more comfortable, providing more of the softail "sit in bike" feeling by lowering the seating position, was a Mustang Vintage touring seat. It also moved me back. At 6"2" it works well. Go to dealership and demo a few seats. I believe the hd sundowner moves you lower also.

Appreciate the reply. But confidence has nothing to do with it. I came From riding Softails so prefer the bike lower.
