Default 106 stroker question

So I am new to the forum but have a question concerning my 01 electra glide. I just got finished with a cosmetic build stretched tank, fenders, bags, a 21 inch fat spoke and a ton of powder coat. I do all the work my self so not a lot of extra dough in the build so far. I recently added S&S 510g cams, S&S adjustable pushrods and a python razor 2-1 side dump. I thought I was done. a couple of weeks ago I got some bad engine noise and well its the crank. so the cases have to get split and I am doing a 106 S&S crank new S&S jugs, S&S pistons. S&S is saying I can keep my stock heads and the 510g Cams and still pull well over 100 HP. I am having a reputable shop do the build and he said it would be fine. Does anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, or experience with this setup. Not buying new heads and cams will save about 1500 bucks. I am having a reputable shop do the build and he said it should be fine.

Have you considered having your stock heads ported? It would likely be less expensive than buying new heads, and you would know you are getting the most out of your build. Just a thought.

^^^^ That. Send the stock heads out to be massaged a little bit. You'll be glad you did.

Plus 1; have your heads worked and throw a bigger cam in there. Very few stock heads out there making 100+ hp and not with those school bus cams.

You've got 15 year old heads. The very least I would do is new valve seals and springs.

Really, and I'm not an engine builder by any stretch, if you're going to go with a bored and stroked build, having the heads cleaned and ported by an experienced head guy seems like a gimme.

Those heads are going to be a huge bottle neck on your build. JMHO
